Botanical Glossary - Home

The Male Drone is about 5/8 of an inch long, yellow brown and black bodies with yellowish, orangish and cream colored rings in abundance. The head, antennae and legs are dark brown to blackish with short, pale, erect hairs densest on the thorax and least on the abdomen. The wings are translucent with brown veins. The pollen basket is on the hind tibia.
