The wood frame farmhouse is a fine example of more elaborate Victorian architecture from 1894, featuring a large verandah on the south and east sides supported by decorative brackets, bay windows on main floor, paired windows on second floor. John Stewart purchased the farm in 1880, and pioneered the dyking of the Nickomekl River. He married Anne in 1884, and served 5 years on the earliest Municipal Councils. This is the only completely intact farm unit remaining in Surrey from the late 19th century.
Photos - Beautifully restored and in quite immaculate condition is the Stewart Farmhouse in all of it's 1890s splendor built by John Stewart. Frames left and right show the front door and eastern side door amidst the wrap around verandah that is typical of this era of North American Farm House.
