Looking west from the Judges/winners Gazebo toward the Hastings
Racecourse Grandstands - the Racetrack has occupied this portion of the Hastings
Park grounds since 1892 (the front Facade of the racetrack was built in 1929,
however most of the stands and gambling facilities were built in the 60's,

Photos - Frames left and center: The southern face of the Livestock building on the PNE Grounds. Fair Time finds this building stuffed with sheep, cows and horse for the annual livestock competition and 4H fair.
Frame right: Camelia Japonica (Japanese Camelia) blossom and bud surrounded by oval leaves. Camelias are among the best of evergreen flowering shrubs and sometimes grow into tree size. This hard shrub has deep green, small-toothed glossy leaves with profuse white, pink or red flowers mainly late winter to early spring.

Photos - Frame left: Magnolia Soulangiana
(Saucer Magnolia) blossoms opening up on otherwise bare trees in Hastings
Park. Magnolias are exotic-looking, hardy, and highly prized for their colorful,
distinctive flowers. This is a hybrid of Magnolia Denudata and Magnolia Lilliflora
usually found as shrub sized or growing to small tree or about 20 feet tall.
The shrub shows tulip shaped flowers (6 inch diameter) before leaves appear
(about 6 inches long).
Frames right and center: Looking through breaks in the southern portion of the Livestock building looking north at the idle livestock showing area. Frame right shows a cast iron cow looking like it wants to get out for a walk in the park.
