Photos - This is the ranch that is part of the property that the log cabin resides upon (2115 Highway 6). It has a few horses in a corral, a narrow creek for fresh water, and livable accommodations for people (see previous page for this day to view the log cabin).

As of 2008, Cherryville remains unincorporated and has a population of 1,000 people. Cherryville has two general stores, both carrying gas, propane and liquor. It also has a museum, community hall and park, golf course, three cafes, library, artisans' shop, art gallery, log home building businesses, many farms, campgrounds, two fishing resorts, three B 'n' Bs, two churches and a number of volunteer-run community organizations, including the Cherryville & Area Historical Society. It also boasts some of the most beautiful scenery in B.C.
Photos - Frames left and right: Moving along east through Highway 6 to Cherryville. Frank's General Store 1193 Highway 6 established here since 1952 (frames left) and Moms Country Cafe located at 1206 Highway 6 close by (frame right).
Center frame: An interesting two storey barn looking more like an upended shoe box with a roof in the valley near Cherryville. It is a rather unique barn, or at least it is the only one like it I have seen. More in tomorrow's picture pages.

Photos - The old log house converted to shed (frames left and right) are part of the property of 690 Highway 6 and the outback building (center frame) is in the lower eastern corner of the handful of buildings associated with the property - this is part of the Cherryville district which grew up out of the gold rush period from 1863 to 1930. During that time numerous mining companies operated in the area. It had been calculated that over $125,000 worth of gold had been extracted from Cherry Creek. This figure was calculated when gold was selling at $7.50 an ounce. By today's prices, that would be approximately $112,000,000.
More photos of this ranch in tomorrow's pages.
