A wee bit of exploring in the townsite of Kaslo BC along Fourth Street.

Photos - The main entrance of the Provincial Government Building (designated a heritage building in 2007) at 312 Fourth Street. Also known as the Kemball Memorial Center in memory of Col Arrnold Henry Grant Kemball CRDSO late of 5th Gurkhas Indian Army. Kemball was killed in action at Vimy Ridge France in command of the 54th Battery CEF March 1, 1917. A tablet on the building side was erected by the men of his battalion.

Photos - Frames left and right: A flattop roof buildings of a 1950s design is Kaslo Automotive at 400 Fourth Street

Center frame: The Last Stitch Quilt Shop at 343 Front Street near Fourth Street more than just a flat top building with cedar clad shingle siding, it's early 1900s decorative wood work on the front entrance porch give the building style and much character.

Photos - Frames left and right: A post Boomtown building at 304 Fourth Street designated as Kaslo Senior Citizens Club #81. Boomtown buildings had a false front with the building behind it having a gabled roof and were popular in the late 1800s. This building has lot its false front and been given instead a lovely decorative lip along the roof line in front with a flat roof building behind.

Center frame: Looking south along Fourth Street to the Village Hall at 413 Fourth Street. Kaslo's Village Hall, built in 1898, is one of only two wooden municipal buildings that are still in use as the seats of local government.
