Photos - While I waited for the ferry I poked around the terminal area, stumbled on the rocky shore and enjoyed the view of Upper Arrow Lake surrounded by rocky mountains.

The Galena Ferry is located across Upper Arrow Lake, 49 kilometers south of Revelstoke on Highway 23, between Shelter Bay and Galena Bay. The D.E.V. Galena sails from Shelter Bay 5:00 am - 12:00am (midnight) and from Galena Bay 5:30 am - 12:30 am. : In addition to the above D.E.V. Galena schedule, the seasonal vessel M.V. Shelter Bay operates in Shuttle Mode between 9:00 a.m. and approximately 7:00 p.m. daily from May 21- to October 11, 2010.

Photos - The Galena Bay slowly lumbers into the terminal which is nothing more than a cement and wooden platform with a moveable steel ramp and slowly unloads the traffic from the Shelter Bay side of the Upper Arrow Lake.

Photos - Most drivers stayed in their vehicles during the 20 minute crossing however, here is a perfect opportunity to explore a little.

The Galena Ferry was built at the Allied Shipyard next to Second Narrows in North Vancouver, BC in 1968 (hull #163).
