The male worker bee is about 1/2" long with yellow thorax, broad black band between wings - the abdominal segment is mostly red on top with bits of yellow and black underneath (chubby and hairy all over). The adult sips nectar and carries pollen baskets on hind tibiae - armed with a stinger that can be used many times but isn't aggressive unless disturbed.
