Columba Fasciata - Leaving its Cedar treetop perch for an un-watched perch.

This bird is rather heavy and except for the long tail and longer body, can easily be mistaken for a rock Dove. It likes perching in trees in woodland areas and can be recognized by the broad tail band at the end of it's fan tail. It has yellow feet, and a bill with dark tip. These birds like seeds, fruits and insects.

Columba Fasciata - Band-tailed Pigeon - Howe Sound Crest Trail, Cypress Bowl, West Vancouver - Summer.
