Dragonflies

This medium-sized, brown, yellow and greenish dragonfly is an emerald in the family of Corduliidae family. This beauty is more often seen around lakes, boggy streams and peatlands in the mountains or the northern parts of our region. The eyes meet broadly on the top of the head and seldom perch during feeding - males frequently hover when patrolling for mates. They fly from May to late August, but mostly in June.
