Eriobotrya Japonica: Japanese Medlar tree, Nispero.

I photographed this tree in the San Agustin Etla village - December 2003. I had heard so much about an apricot sized fruit that was sweet and tasty, but not had the chance to try it in the last visit. The fruit is as sweet as candy - well worth the extra effort to visit in the beginning of December if at all possible. there is a similar tree called Mespilus Germanica, also a Medlar tree, that grows in the Pacific Northwest.
