Bald Eagle - Hunting for scraps at Barnet Marine Park from crab fisherman. After a day of crab fishing traps were cleaned and bait was detached and scattered along the rocky shore. This eagle saw the bait thrown onto shore and stopped to scoop up larger bits, then flew to one of the off shore pilings to eat. Our hungry eagle flew back 4 times to pick up scattered chunks.

The Bald Eagle takes about 4 years to mature: The adult has a white hood and tail with a massive yellow beak, yellow legs and talons. This is the USA national bird.

Haliaeetus Leucocephalus - Barnet Marine Park near the old Barnet Mill loading dock - January, 2007.
