Jacaranda Acutifolia: Jacaranda, Fern tree, Framboyán Azul, Samarapa (Haiti), Sand trysil (British Guiana), Barbatimao (French Guiana)..
These photos were made in Mid-February 2002 in San Agustin, Oaxaca
The Indians of Brazil, (where the tree is called Caroba) use the leaves in the form of poultices for skin disorders. In Panama, (called Palo de buba) the bark is peeled and pulverized to use for healing skin irritations and diseases. The natives of Venezuela, (named Guarupa) and Columbia also use the tree for medicines.
