Photos - When you walk along the streets in Oaxaca always make sure you do your neck exercises. Watch for bits and pieces to trip on while walking, and always look through open doorways. Mostly the doors are closed and you don't get to see what's behind them. Like the doorway in left frame, at some times of the day instead of an iron gate there is a wooden handrail guarding a private paradise inside. I wished I had more time to explore some of the back streets. These views are from Av Morelos on the northern edge of Oaxaca City.

Photos - Some of the most interesting shops, doorways and windows are along Av Morelos (Papeleria La Escuelita shop at right frame). Most older buildings are made of adobe so that the buildings are easily custom built to use up as much of the space within the property. In Mexico, house owners are more into building a high wall around their yard and having a private courtyard inside rather than having a back yard separated from the living space such as we do in Canada and USA. That's Madero Hill in background equipped with TV Towers and an Observatory and Planetarium. I did a visit to the Planetarium once... I'll show you photos of that adventure at a different time.

Photos - Doorways are as unique as the buildings and walls them selves. One could go around and photograph all of the doors and buildings in Oaxaca and be hard pressed to find two exactly the same. These walls are also along Av Morelos at the Northern edge of Oaxaca City.
