Phasianus Colchicus - Ring-neck Pheasant - Westham Island, shooting from Robertson road in the fields at the entrance to the National Wildlife Area - South Arm of Fraser River, Westham Island - Fall.

Ring-necked Pheasants are large, chicken-like birds with a long, sweeping, pointed tail. They run swiftly and are easily startled into a strong, noisy takeoff. This bird is introduced from Eurasia and is widely settled in North America - usually found in farms, fields, marsh edges and brush.
