Blue Rock Fish : In natural surroundings at the Vancouver Aquarium during Old School Divers' weekend.
The rockfish likes rocky reefs and soft bottoms from the
Bering Sea to Baja California. This is usually the most abundant rockfish
in mid-water to about 300 feet where it will feed on small crustaceans,
jelly fishes, salps and algae - it also has dorsal and anal fins which
contain mildly poisonous spines so careful handling. It will grow to about
30 inches with bluish black colors with light blue mottling on both sides
- it has dark fins and no spots on its dorsal fin.
