Standing Rock!

A very large boulder standing beside Highway 3 about six kilometers west of Keremeos BC - August 06, 2010.

About 4 miles from Keremeos along highway 3, in a narrow, sage brush infested stretch of the Crowsnest Highway, a rather large Standing Rock, revered by generations of local Indians marks the corner of the Ashnola Indian Reserve. This house-sized Mehir is part of the local evolving art as it has attracted layers upon layers of Graffiti Art.

Opposite, on the south side of the Highway, noted story tellers Henry and Barbara Allison, descendants of Princeton settlers John F. and Susan L. Allison, maintain the Native Art & Gift Gallery wherein they sell traditional handicrafts, paintings and other works of art.
