Sunrise over Farm - Cheyenne, Wyoming

Travellers beware of sunrise colors

Botanical Glossary - Home

Farm from Eastern Wyoming to western Nebraska are reeling from unusual thunder and lighting storms accompanied by downfalls of cherry-sized hailstones and torrential downpours of rain.

I broke camp and made it out onto the road in time to watch a spectacular show of color at sunrise, rested and ready to fight the morning headwind that allowes forward motion in a slow progress that a person walking or a turtle crawling could make better speed. Cars and trucks still whiz by at 75 miles per hour with deafening sound, non-stop all day and night. It did not rain last night, although the clouds certainly did make it look like rain would fall any moment.

Looking Eastward at the new day from Mile 380 near TA Truck Stop along Interstate 80 - With expectations of more thundershowers and hail storms - August 09, 2011.
